Methodology
Every entry on a Sanctioned list cites the regulator that designated it. Today we track four Tier-1 sources that publish on-chain addresses: OFAC SDN (US Treasury), Israel MoD (terror-finance designations), Japan MoF, and France Trésor — aggregated via OpenSanctions and refreshed weekly. EU Consolidated, UN Security Council, UK HMT, and Swiss SECO sanction persons and entities but rarely publish blockchain addresses; when they do, they appear here too.
Non-sanctioned lists name their attribution source on every row: Etherscan entity tags for Ethereum exchanges and DeFi exploits, and WalletExplorer address clustering (heuristic, historical) for Bitcoin exchanges, gambling, and mining. Inferred labels (clustering, behavioural attribution) are tracked separately and never appear on a Sanctioned list. For risk assessments on specific addresses, the screening products return counterparty graphs, mixer exposure, and auditor-ready reports.
