BA Copilot

BA Copilot is a streaming AI chat assistant embedded in the BlockchainAnalysis.io dashboard. It provides context-aware answers to compliance, tax, audit, monitoring, wallet analysis, and alert investigation questions — powered by Claude Sonnet with full access to the user's screening data.

Context Modes

BA Copilot operates in 6 context modes, each tailored to a specific workflow. The mode determines which data the AI can access and what type of answers it provides.

Switching Modes

Click the mode selector dropdown in the Copilot panel to switch contexts. The mode determines:

1. System prompt — The AI receives role-specific instructions (e.g., in Compliance mode, it writes like a compliance analyst).
2. Data access — The AI can reference the relevant data for the current page (e.g., in Wallet mode on a screening result, it can see the full screening data).
3. Response format — Responses are formatted appropriately (e.g., Audit mode uses structured tables and accounting terminology).

How It Works

1. User asks a question in the Copilot chat panel (right sidebar on desktop, bottom sheet on mobile).
2. Context assembly — The system assembles the current page context (screening result, report data, alert details) plus the user's question.
3. Streaming response — Claude Sonnet generates a response that streams token-by-token into the chat panel.
4. Follow-up — Users can ask follow-up questions. The conversation history (up to 10 turns) is maintained for coherent multi-turn dialogue.

Data Analysis

• Explain risk scores and individual risk factors in plain language
• Break down counterparty exposure by category and threat level
• Summarize transaction patterns and anomalies
• Compare cost basis methods and explain differences in tax outcomes

Compliance Guidance

• Suggest whether enhanced due diligence (EDD) is warranted
• Draft compliance memo language based on screening results
• Explain alert rule codes and their regulatory basis
• Identify which risk factors may require escalation

Report Interpretation

• Walk through IFRS fair value schedule entries
• Explain impairment test results and accounting treatment
• Clarify tax lot assignments and holding period calculations
• Summarize comprehensive report findings

Privacy and Data Handling

• Copilot conversations are not stored after the session ends unless the user explicitly saves them.
• User data sent to the AI model is processed under BlockchainAnalysis.io's data processing agreement and is not used for model training.
• Enterprise customers can disable Copilot for their organization via Admin > Settings > AI Features.
